I’ve mentioned here before that I love to go hunting for supplies

ReStore Art Gala

at the Habitat for Humanity ReStores. We have one in Stratford and there is an even larger one in Waterloo. Last year, a call for artists came out of the Stratford one and it was a bit of a no-brainer for me to sign up. The concept was this: we were given a $50 credit at the the store and complete free reign to make whatever we wanted. The finished pieces will be auctioned off at a gala on March 23rd and all the proceeds go to supporting their work. I’ve done a pair of coordinated masks that also have matching display mounts that can be hung on the wall. (and a framed mirror, so people can see how they fit, on the night of the gala) When we dropped them off, I got a bit of a sneak peek at some of the other pieces and it looks like an amazing range of works. Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door.

Getting back

While I did get back, early in the month, from the conference,

I haven’t been good about keeping up with the blog. Something about all the assorted smaller projects that were waiting to be done and the seasonable quiet time have kept me from posting regularly. However, from here on in, I’m going to try and get myself back into the habit of regular writing since there are lots of things to share. Hopefully everyone enjoyed the incredibly mild weather we’ve had this year and didn’t find February to be too much of a drag.
